Reminder - Art in the Park Sept 27th

Artist Studios at Fearrington Village’s second annual  Art in the Park, 2015 will be held Sunday, Sept. 27th (rain date-Oct 4th) from 10a.m. to 4p.m.  This outdoor art show and sale is a great opportunity to meet thirty+ Fearrington artists. Explore art and fine crafts - paintings (oil, watercolor and acrylic), screen prints, drawings, collage, basketry, wood (carving and turning), photography, fiber, jewelry, pottery and more.

Art raffles, hands-on art activities for kids and local musicians add to the festivities:

Art Raffle  - Eight pieces of art donated by members of Artist Studios at Fearrington Village will be raffled off during Art in the Park. All proceeds go to Fearrington Cares, an organization founded on the belief that when neighbors help neighbors, everyone benefits. Raffle tickets are $5.or 5 for $20. Tickets are on sale now through Fearrington Cares, from ASFV artists or at the event. Art donated by ASFV artists: Matthew Leavitt, Murry Handler, El Tremblay,  Steve Shafer, Vidabeth Bensen, Forrest Greenslade, Barbara Hengstenberg and Consi Scott 

Kids Art Tent -The Art in the Park Kids Tent is an opportunity for kids to participate in               hands-on art activities. Four stations will feature art projects that will thrill young creative minds: 
1. Sidewalk Art– kids take home a piece of  a sidewalk fantasy.  2. Pet rocks are treasured years later when made by a little artist.  3. Young DaVincis and Picassos will help create a “masterpiece’ painting on canvas. This is a group painting is guided by an artist but created by kids. 4. What could be more magical than giant origami cranes? Always a big hit!

Music - This year visitors to Art in the Park will enjoy the Genius and Grace of Flauto Dolce, a local ensemble of Baroque recorder players and the sweet sounds Tim Stambaugh’s acoustic guitar, banjo, and vocals. Tim is a regional, national and international performer of bluegrass music.
