Artist Studios at Fearrington Village at the Carolina Brewery

Art at the Carolina Brewery

The Carolina Brewery now displays the works of two Chatham community artists groups. Diners and downstairs visitors can view an ever changing exhibit of work by members of The Chatham Artists Guild (http://www.chathamartistsguild.org/), a non-profit organization of regionally and nationally recognized visual artists. Each year, during the first two weeks in Dec., Guild members open their studios to the public during the Chatham Open Studio Tour. While the exhibits usually feature an ample sampling of works by 2 or 3 Guild artists, the current exhibit offers a wonderfully mixed exhibit by 11 artists: Cindy Bainbridge, Vidabeth Bensen, Phyllis Burns, Vangie Cathcart, Forrest Greenslade, Kate Ladd, Leslie Palmer, Rita Spina, Carol Tinsky, Karen Tiede and Thomas Boone. This exhibit runs through February 4th.

The Upstairs Gallery is the latest addition to the Carolina Brewery’s going efforts to support the arts in Chatham County. Displayed upstairs in the meeting / party room, works by artists living and creating in nearby Fearrington Village fill the walls. This venue will continue as a group exhibit with an ever-changing display. Members of Artist Studios at Fearrington Village (http://fearringtonartists.blogspot.com/) open their studios by appointment (as do many of the Chatham Artists Guild artists). 27 studios are currently open. Artists are contacted to arrange studio visits. Contact information is listed beside each work. A portfolio displaying a sample of work by each artist will soon be available. Meeting goers and special groups can arrange for an artist to present their work, give demonstrations, or share their creative process.
