Artists in Fearrington Village meet at the Roost

Artists living and creating in Fearrington Village met on may 19th at the Roost, a neighborhood beer garden, to plan opening their studios to the public. The group's facilitator, Enid Handler lead the discussion. Membership Communications Chairperson Leslie Palmer and Open Studio Chairperson Vidabeth Bensen provided guidance on best practices for studio visits. Public Relations Chairperson Forrest Greenslade updated the group on the Artist Studios at Fearrington Village website.
After the short business meeting, the artists enjoyed a social time with snacks and beverages from the Roost.

Cameron Museum in Wilmington, NC.

Fearrington artist, Marcelle Harwell Pachnowski, participated last Friday in the "State of the Art/ Art of the State" exhibition at the Cameron Museum in Wilmington, NC. Artists who participated submitted one piece of art for this interesting exhibition that will be up until October 31, 2011.
Each artist was greeted by curators from the Guggenheim, Tate Modern, MOMA San Francisco and the De Young Museums. 805 artists participated in the exhibition.

Artist Studios at Fearrington Village Founded


"Artist Studios at Fearrington Village, a loosely organized group of artists and fine craftspeople living and creating at Fearrington. Potter Stan Pomeranz conceived of the idea and recruited a small cadre of founders to get things started. The group is working with Fitch Creations to coordinate efforts to increase awareness in the general public of the wonderful arts scene in Fearrington Village." Julia Hardy

Artist Studios at Fearrington Village is an informal group of visual artists who live and work in Fearrington Village, a lovely country community near Chapel Hill with many creative and productive residents. Our mission is to:
Attract visitors to our studios to experience the creative process;
Facilitate opportunities to exhibit and sell our artwork;
Enhance the lives of all in our community through the arts;
Promote Fearrington Village as an arts destination;
Support one another in our professional lives.
We welcome all Fearrington residents interested in creating art and fine crafts.
